BECOME A MARSHAL

Join our Volunteer Marshal Newsletter

Our marshals are the heart and soul of every event, none of which could be staged without their hard work and dedication. They're also there to cheer on the athletes and make sure they complete the course safely.

We've been extremely fortunate to be able to call upon a fantastic pool of marshals and we're always on the lookout for more volunteers to help build the team. If you'd like to join us then please Join our Volunteer Marshal Newsletter or contact us directly - Toby sales@allabouttriathlons.co.uk

Are you injured? Would you like free entry to future events?

We offer lifetime free entry for all marshals. If you can't take part and you'd like to give something back to your sport, then marshaling could be perfect for you. In return for helping out, our marshals get free entry into any future allabouttriathlons event.

Instead of moping around at home, with your broken leg or twisted ankle, why not join our team and help all the other athletes get around the course?

What roles are there?

We try and rotate our marshals so that everyone experiences every role during the course of a season. We also cater to the individual's preference (can't walk, can't stand etc).

Timing, Registration, Winners management, Race course control, Water station, Car parking and cycling marshals...

If you're a mountain biker then you can join the fun and ride around the courses, reporting back during an event or guiding the lead runners.

Why be a marshal?

After a race you recently completed, you may have appreciated that the reliable and friendly marshals on your race day, were essential. As a marshal you will be expected to offer advice, answer questions and simply offer encouragement; and you know that you will have contributed to delivering a great event. Marshals receive a huge amount of appreciation from athletes.

What are the perks?

We always try to put on a great cooked breakfast after the race and of course food & drink throughout the event is available. You'll get a free entry to any allabouttriathlons event. This can be transferred to a friend as well.

How does this work?

Firstly we'll add you to our marshals list and then nearer the event date we'll send an email. Check your diary and let us know if you're available. Closer to the event date maps and instructions are sent out specifying times, locations and your specific responsibilities. We will be in close contact before and during the event, so there's no need to worry. We often require marshals to be onsite early but we won't expect you to hang around for long. Unless you want to hang around for cooked breakfast.

G3 - A tough off road course, which is rarely flat. You're either climbing or descending for the full 10k+. Challenge yourself. PMO G3 Series, 2011

Tough, but run by a capable, enthusiastic crew, excellent atmosphere. And it's at least 11kms! Recommended! :) Alex G3 Series, 2010

G3 - what more can I say!? A fantastic series of races to get you out of bed at the weekend Tom D, 2010

Well organised, good atmosphere, although "cheeky" is not the adjective I'd have chosen to describe the hills! Longleg, 2010

Hardassnails - Excellent course. Probably the toughest 10k I've done, but really love the off-road element. Ran this last year also, and will return next Gerald B, 2010
