What:

The two sportives event will offer a choice of fully marked road courses taking in the rolling roads of Surrey and Sussex in May and The Welsh Borders in June.

Starting and finishing at the same place, riders can start any time during the hour start window.

There will be feed stations on the course and at the finish supplying homemade cake.

NEG roaming marshals on motor bikes will be also be on hand to offer puncture repair as well as basic first aid.

THIS IS NOT A RACE. Anyone seen treating it as one will be discounted and not given a time.

All riders must adhere to the highway code and we request that you be considerate and courteous to all other road users. Short sections of the course are on A roads. Riders should expect to encounter car, motorbike, lorry and agricultural vehicle traffic.

It is down to you, the cyclist, to follow the directional arrows which will be black on a luminous yellow background.

What to wear

HELMET. No Helmet, no ride!

Timing

Electronic chip card timing.

Remember to dib your timecard at the check point at the start. The clock starts as soon as you dib, and stops when you dib again on your return. So this will be the last thing you do before you leave and the first thing you do when you come back! Take your card to the timing tent. Hand in your card. In return you will receive a receipt with your time on it.

Overall results will be listed by the following day, if not before.

Please look after your chip card. Keep it on your person in a separate pocket to your gels or anything else you will pull out while riding. If you lose it not only do you not get a time but you will also be charged for it - £40.00

First Aid

Two NEG roaming marhsals will be patrolling the course on motor bikes. The number of the course director who will be on the course, will be at registration. Be sure to save it to your phone and make sure you take your phone with you!

If in the unlikely event you are involved in an accident, dial 999 if you can. If it is not serious but you require first aid attention there will be first aid kits at the feed stations.

Water

Manned feed stations will be stocked with homemade cake, energy drink and water.

Refreshments

At the end there will be homemade cake and food.
