| become a marshal |
Our marshals are the heart and sole of every event. They're there to cheer on the athletes and make sure they get around the course safely.
We've always been very lucky to have great marshals and we’re constantly looking to build the team too. So if you'd like to join us team then please do not hesitate to get in touch. |
 |
| Who can be a marshal? |
| Being a marshal is for anyone who enjoys the outdoors and who would like to contribute a little towards sport in general. |
 |
| What kind of roles are there? |
We try to rotate everyone around the different roles for each race or tailor the responsibility to each person’s preference.
Timing, Registration, Winners management, Race course control, Water station, Car parking, MTB marshals…
Every marshals will be allocated at least two roles and we always love to have marshals out in the field directing athletes, shouting encouragement and being in the thick of it.
If you're a mountain biker then you can join the biker gang who ride around the courses reporting back to the race office, guiding the lead runners or setting the pace. |

Marshals receive a huge amount of appreciation from athletes either on race day or simply by comments posted on the website. check them out on Runner World. |
 |
| What are the perks? |
| We always put on a great cooked breakfast after the race and of course food & drink throughout the event is available. You'll get a free event t-shirt and one free entry to any all about triathlons event for each time you marshal [transferable.] |
 |
| What do I need to do to get involved? |
Firstly we’ll add you to our marshals team list and nearer the event date we’ll send a request email. Having checked your diary and us receiving your reply, we will discuss with you what roles you might prefer and the details of what is expected on the day. Close to the event date various maps and instructions are sent out specifying times, locations and your specific responsibilities. We will be in close contact before and during the event, so there’s no need to worry. We often require marshals to be onsite early but we won’t expect you to hang around for long. There’ll be a tight program of moving between positions and before you know it the race is over and we’ll all be sitting down for a late breakfast.
